you go outside and you think for one minute its gonna be warm and its gonna be "normal" and you think lets go to a nice part of town to get away from this crazy part, and this is what you get:
old chinese smells (the common smell) in an old classic library
a lady throwing up on the street
a man loudly snorting and couphing up phlemn oh and of course spitting it out right beside us
a man going to the toilet looking around sheepishly just after selling fruit in his basket, half a street up from authentic Dolce and Gabbana and Armania Exchange....
coming home to a used toilet, not put back christmas tree and cards that had fallen over after the fix it men came to "fix" our heater.
life in china, and I wanna be some place else.

Have you seen The Family Stone? I recommend, stupid ending but higly entertainly and good looking movie.
hey tor replying here as email is down due to an earthquake between here and Tawain - i am fascinated by this. watched the family stone as one of the first movies here. who do you like on it? i like rachel mcadams and the clothes she wears. across the seas is no longer a private blog so i dont mind if you enter it on yours. at the library it was a shop library where you could sit and read the books. Sime was enticing me with beautiful photographs about Tibet, while i was looking at and reading a b+w photography book on the history of China about a missionary who came here from France. This was in the days when ladies had their feet bound...
it's nice to be back. Can you two go to Tibet easy from there?
um , I like the house the best on The Family Stone. I watch a number of things for the interior decoration!
